Frequently asked questions

What is the best anime watch party setup for Crunchyroll?

AniDachi is a desktop Chrome extension for live Crunchyroll rooms with sync, chat, reactions, and voice/video. Everyone installs it and opens the same episode. A Plus, Pro, or trial host creates the room and sends an invite; Free friends can join.

Can you do an anime watch party without everyone being online at the same time?

You can watch independently and discuss afterward in a separate chat. AniDachi live rooms currently need everyone online together. Async catch-up, shared group progress, and replayed timestamped reactions are coming soon.

Is Teleparty better than AniDachi for anime watch parties?

Teleparty supports more streaming platforms. AniDachi focuses on Crunchyroll and YouTube live rooms with anime detection, chat, reactions, and voice/video. Your own Plus/Pro access and recording permission enable personal history. Async catch-up is coming soon.

When should I open this toolkit instead of the long-form pillars?

Use it when you already know you need a Crunchyroll stack but want fast orientation — compare tools, skim definitions, and dive into one deep guide without hunting the footer.

Do I need a Crunchyroll subscription to join an AniDachi watchroom?

Yes — each participant needs their own Crunchyroll account to stream. AniDachi provides the sync, watchroom, and chat layer on top. The host creates the room; everyone else joins via invite link using their own Crunchyroll login.
