How to Watch Anime With Friends in Different Time Zones

For a live AniDachi room, find an overlapping time and rotate the schedule fairly. If no shared time works, watch independently and arrange a later discussion. Async catch-up is planned, not available today.

Method 1: AniDachi (scheduled live sessions)

AniDachi live rooms require participants to watch at the same time. Pick a shared window, create a room, and invite whoever is available. Each viewer can keep personal history with Plus or Pro; this does not create shared group progress or saved episode threads.

Method 2: Discord (roles + threaded chat)

Discord threads help when half the server is a day ahead on a seasonal finale. Pin episode-specific threads so latecomers do not read spoilers for episode nine while they are still on episode seven. Voice is optional; many global clubs stay text-first to respect sleeping neighbors.

Method 3: Rotating live host times

Democracy-minded clubs sometimes rotate who stays up late. That can work for short series, but fatigue shows up fast on twelve-episode cours. Treat this as a fallback when everyone insists on simultaneous reactions for finales only.

Step-by-step with AniDachi

  1. List time zones. Write down each member's zone so you know who is waking up for work during your evening.
  2. Install AniDachi. Open /extension, then choose Add to Chrome from the official AniDachi Chrome Web Store listing for every member who watches on desktop.
  3. Agree on pacing. Agree on a shared live viewing time and allow friends to catch up independently after missed sessions.
  4. Create the watchroom. Open the Crunchyroll episode; AniDachi detects it automatically. A host with Plus or Pro access, including an active trial, chooses Create room for the live session.
  5. Share the session invite. Post the current session's invite in your group chat. Friends can join on Free accounts with their own episode access.
  6. Label spoilers. Ask everyone to mention the episode number before detailed reactions.
