How to Host a Crunchyroll Watch Party

Short Answer

To host a Crunchyroll watch party with AniDachi, open the episode, create a watchroom, and share one invite — while you (the host) carry the AniDachi plan limits and every guest streams on their own Crunchyroll account. This is the host/entitlements guide. For a broader multi-method create flow, see how to create an anime watch party.

Start a Watchroom

Install AniDachi in Chrome. Join friends for free, or host with Plus or Pro on Crunchyroll, YouTube, and Netflix.

Who pays (hosts)

Only the host needs Plus or Pro, including during a trial. Friends join on Free accounts, and the host's plan sets the room limits. Recording and editing personal watch progress require each viewer’s own Plus or Pro access. Saved history and Resume remain available on Free. Crunchyroll, YouTube, and Netflix are supported. Guests do not need Plus to join. Full tiers live on /pricing.

Choose Plus ($7.99/mo on monthly billing) or Pro ($14.99/mo on monthly billing) to create rooms. Eligible Free accounts can try Plus or Pro free for 3 days, once per account. See the plan cards for your available offer. If your offer says “No card required”, your trial ends without a charge unless you choose to enable renewal. Trials started with a card keep the terms confirmed at checkout. Changing plans or billing periods does not restart the trial. See pricing for yearly options and renewal terms.

Host steps

  1. Confirm Crunchyroll access for the group. Every guest needs their own Crunchyroll login for the episode you will host — AniDachi does not stream the video for them.
  2. Choose your AniDachi host plan. Hosting requires your own Plus or Pro access, including an active trial. Friends can join your active room on Free accounts.
  3. Open the exact Crunchyroll episode. Open the episode player so AniDachi can automatically detect the title before you create the room.
  4. Create the watchroom as host. Create the room from the extension and agree on a shared start time before sending invitations.
  5. Share the invite with host notes. Paste the link plus episode number, start window, and spoiler rules into Discord or chat.
  6. Start playback and moderate. Start the live session together. The host manages the room and agrees on pauses or rewinds with the group.

Plan limits to know before invite night

  • Free: join an active Plus or Pro host, including a trial host. Free cannot create rooms.
  • Plus: up to 6 people including the host, 4 cameras, and 6 microphones, with no daily hosting time limit.
  • Pro: up to 15 people including the host, 4 cameras, and 8 microphones, with no daily hosting time limit.

The general create guide covers multi-method hosting. This page is Crunchyroll-host-specific: entitlements, plan limits, and CR episode detection so hosts know what they pay for before invite night.
